Three Days to Dead
Dead Series, #1
Three Days to Dead by Kelly Meding was amazing! If I didn’t know that Ms. Meding was a debut author before I read this book, I wouldn’t have believed it.
Evy Stone wakes up on a slab in the morgue, confused and disoriented. It is obvious that she isn’t in her own body and that she desperately needs to figure out what is going on. She needs clothes and cash not to mention information. What she does know is that she is a trained fighter and member of a Triad; bounty hunters of the things that bump in the night. Evy’s Triad was the best in the city until her team mates were killed and she was blamed. What Evy doesn’t know is how she ended up dead and why she was brought back. She had better find out before her time runs out.
There is nothing about this book that disappoints. Evy, while a strong kick-butt heroine, is far from perfect and never acts like she has all the answers. The world building is perfectly executed, slowly adding details to the book. The supernatural creatures are familiar and unique at the same time. There is a haunting quality to this work that triggers a lot of emotion. Ms. Meding doesn’t pull any punches, making the losses real and immediate. Evy is working on a very short timeline to get to the bottom of things. It ups the tension that every chapter starts with how many hours she has left. I had no idea how this book was going to unfold and was riveted to the page. On the same hand, I also found myself going slower as to savor the experience. This was an awesome read and one I highly recommend!!

Book Blurb for Three Days to Dead
She's young, deadly, and hunted—with only three days to solve her own murder…
When Evangeline Stone wakes up naked and bruised on a cold slab at the morgue – in a stranger’s body, with no memory of who she is and how she got there – her troubles are only just beginning. Before that night, she and the other two members of her Triad were star bounty hunters -- mercilessly cleansing the city of the murderous creatures living in the shadows, from vampires to shape-shifters to trolls. Then something terrible happened that not only cost all three of them their lives, but also convinced the city’s other Hunters that Evy was a traitor . . . and she can’t even remember what it was.
Now she’s a fugitive, piecing together her memory, trying to deal some serious justice – and discovering that she has only three days to solve her own murder before the reincarnation spell wears off. Because in three days, Evy will die again – but this time, there’s no second chance…
